Hello! Be Welcome.
This is the first in a series of posts that will address the most common questions and concerns that many new practitioners have when it comes to meditation.
The idea is to organize the posts in a chronological order as directly and simply as possible, so that a beginner can gather information that will contribute to making their practice and learning process richer and more beneficial.
Let’s get started? So, to start from the beginning, what is meditation?
Meditation is the prolonged and directed focus of your attention on what is happening in the present moment.
You can consider meditation to be any way of regulating, in an intentional and controlled way, your attention when directed to an action that happens in the here and now, free from interpretations and judgments by your mind.
When this process happens in a way that allows you to fully understand the unfolding of the event, which means that you can control and direct your attention without any judgments from your mind, it is possible to influence and transform the quality of your experience, improving the way you relate to yourself, other people and the world around you.
The act of focusing our attention on the present moment for a prolonged period of time and in a focused manner is very difficult! If you already meditate or are just starting out, you know this well. But stay calm! As I said, we will put together a series of posts to help you with this and other difficulties that may arise.
Until the next post, when we will discuss how “not knowing” is the key to increasing a practitioner’s awareness, expanding their possibilities.
Be Happy!
